Fostering

Become a foster carer and be the change...

FOR CURRENT DOGS NEEDING FOSTER PLEASE SCROLL DOWN!

Fostering is an incredibly rewarding way to be involved in animal rescue.

Our foster families really are the backbone of BeKind - they are the people who work day to day with our rescues in a loving and secure environment. We guide our fosters every step of the way, and offer training, support and guidance for the duration of the animal being placed with them.

Many of these animals will have come from not-so-great situations, and their fosters give them the love and support they need in order to become ready for a forever home. When that time comes, the foster and the team work together to ensure the best suited home to that animal is found.

While a foster animal is in your care, BeKind will cover all reasonable veterinary costs, but we would usually expect you to meet the cost of food. All potential foster families will need to fill out our application form below, after which they will undergo a rigorous home check and process to become a valued member of the team.

The process for becoming a foster parent is as follows:
  • Complete our foster application, click on the 'Apply to Foster' button below.
  • Once returned we will assess suitability and one of our team will give you a call to discuss your application.
  • The application is then passed to our Home Check team, who will contact you to arrange a suitable day and time to come and carry out a home check.
  • The Home Checker will return the completed home check back to us for assessment and if successful you will receive a call to let you know that you have been successful.
  • Our fosters go through a training process prior to an animal being placed and this will include all information on how we want things to be done to set you and the animal up for success.
  • You can offer to foster any animal you wish to, there is no pressure. We will give as much information as possible and assess the animal so that we can ensure a good fit with your home.
IF YOU WANT TO FOSTER FOR US......

BANJO IS LOOKING FOR A FOSTER HOME

Experienced guardian needed.

Banjo is currently in Barrow-Upon-Humber and will need to have a number of meets with is potential foster family.

Banjo is a happy go lucky, big, and daft boy who loves nothing more than to spring around the orchard in his current space. He loves his humans and would do anything to protect them and is looking for a home where his family have large breed / guardian experience.

He can be a little unsure of men, so slow introductions will be needed. Once you become his person, he shows so much love.

He needs an animal free home, with someone who will be able to give him the exercise and stimulation he needs away from other animals, and work with him to build this up over time. He doesn’t like to be left for long periods of time.

Banjo loves his cuddles, likes to look out for his humans and likes to shout so we are looking for a more rural area. Banjo really is a king, and he needs his kingdom where he can run and shout and love his humans in a safe environment.

Banjo is a happy and healthy boy. He has had corrective surgery for double hip dysplasia and there is no reason that this will hinder him at all, but he will need slow and steady build-up of exercise and time outdoors which he adores.

Here are his requirements:

- Animal free home.

- No children under 12.

- A family who will give him the time he needs to settle.

- A family willing to work on his sensitivities and to open up his world slowly.

- A large space in and outdoors.

- Experience with large guardian breeds.

- The use of positive reinforcement only when helping him to settle and with any training.

Could you welcome this handsome boy into your home? He is currently located in the North East

If you think so, why not apply and one of the team will be in touch to discuss. All of our dogs have lifelong support from our qualified behaviour team.
