JOIN OUR FOSTER TEAM

While an animal is in foster care with you, we will assess them over time to ensure that we can appropriately rehome them.
Apply to Foster today so that we can guide you through the process and give you any support or training before a dog or cat arrives with you.

The process is set out below. If you would like to chat before completing an application please email us at info@bekindrescue.com

Fostering is an incredibly rewarding way to be involved in animal rescue.

Our foster families are the backbone of BeKind; they are the people who work day‑to‑day with our animals, offering them a loving, safe, and secure environment.

We support our fosters every step of the way and provide training, guidance, and ongoing help for the entire duration of the animal’s stay.

Many of the animals who come into our care have experienced difficult or uncertain situations. Their foster families give them the love, stability, and reassurance they need to grow in confidence and become ready for their forever homes.

When that time comes, our fosters and the BeKind team work together to ensure the most suitable home is found for each animal.

While a foster animal is in your care, BeKind will cover all reasonable veterinary costs. We do usually ask our foster families to provide food. All potential fosters will need to complete our application form below, after which they will go through a thorough home‑check process to become valued members of our team.

The process for becoming a foster parent is as follows:

1. Complete our foster application

Click on the Apply to Foster button below and submit your form.

2. Application review

Once received, we will assess your suitability. A member of our team will then give you a call to discuss your application in more detail.

3. Home check

Your application will be passed to our Home Check team, who will contact you to arrange a suitable day and time for your home check.

4. Outcome

The Home Checker will return the completed report to us for assessment. You will then receive a call to let you know the outcome and next steps.

Our fosters go through a training process before an animal is placed with them. This includes all the information and guidance needed to ensure that both you and the animal are set up for success.

You are welcome to offer to foster any animal you feel comfortable with; there is absolutely no pressure.

We will always provide as much information as possible and assess each animal carefully so we can ensure the best possible match for your home.

We match the animal to the home, and the home to the animal.

JOIN OUR FOSTER TEAM

We recommend joining our foster team in advance so that you’re ready when a suitable dog or cat needs a temporary home. Being prepared means we can act quickly when an animal is in need, and it ensures you feel confident and supported from the very beginning.

The Benefits of Fostering

• Providing a safe and healthy environment for animals in need

Many of our animals come from uncertain or difficult backgrounds. By opening your home, you give them stability, comfort, and the chance to decompress.

• Creating more space in kennels for other animals

Every foster home frees up vital kennel space, allowing us to help more dogs and cats who urgently need rescue.

• Saving the lives of puppies, dogs, kittens, and cats

Fostering truly saves lives. It gives vulnerable animals the chance to grow, heal, and prepare for their forever homes.

• Introducing the animal to new prospective adopters

Fosters play a key role in helping animals shine. You get to know their personalities, strengths, and quirks, helping us match them with the perfect adopters.

• Gaining valuable life lessons through foster parenting

Fostering teaches patience, compassion, resilience, and joy. It is an incredibly rewarding experience that makes a real difference.
